ADXL345 3-Axis Digital Acceleration of Gravity Tilt Module (GY-291)
GY-291 ADXL345 3-Axis Accelerometer is a sensor board based on the ADXL345 accelerometer integrated circuit. It is a small, thin, ultra-low power consumption, 3-axis accelerometer with high resolution (13-bit) measurement at up to 16 g. Digital output data is formatted as a 16-bit two complements and is accessible through either SPI or I2C digital interface.
This module can measure the static acceleration of gravity in tilt-sensing applications, as well as dynamic acceleration resulting from motion or shock. Its high resolution (3.9 mg/LSB) enables the measurement of inclination changes less than 1.0. Activity and inactivity sensing detect the presence or lack of motion by comparing the acceleration on any axis with user-set thresholds. Tap sensing detects single and double taps in any direction. It has free fall sensing detects if the device is falling. These functions can be mapped individually to either of two interrupt output pins.
The sensor has three axes of measurements, X Y Z. You can set the sensitivity level to either +-2g, +-4g, +-8g, or +-16g. The lower range gives more resolution for slow movements, the higher range is good for high-speed tracking.
